Post LIB for ESS (Na, Zn ion-)

With the increasing electric car market and serious environmental problems, the development of stable and ecofriendly battery has attracted much attention. Therefore, it is important to develop an energy storage device with high capacity, stability, low-price. In this regard, post-LIB, for example, sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) and zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) are considered the next electrochemical energy storage devices. SIB is expected to be widely used as a conventional secondary battery because it has energy storage mechanisms such as LIB and inexpensive raw materials. ZIBs use water-based electrolytes, so there is no risk of explosion. It also uses eco-friendly and cheap materials. However, the above two batteries have low energy density and have problems such as self-discharge. For the next-generation secondary battery, it is necessary to remove obstacles and design an appropriate electrode material.
